Occupational Health Requirements
All hospitals will require you to be cleared by their Occupational Health department before they will confirm your offer of employment. Indeed, some will not allow a start date to be set unless such clearance is obtained.
Hospitals will require you to complete their Occupational Health form and submit documentary proof of immunisations and other relating conditions.
If you do not have these documents with you, you may experience a delay in starting work as you will not be permitted to commence work until all necessary documents have been received.
If you do not have documentary evidence of immunisations, it will be helpful for you to have blood tests done, before coming to England, to prove your immunity status. You will need to bring these blood results with you.
Immunisation evidence, or proof of immunity status, is essential for the following:
- Rubella
- Hepatitis A,B & C
- TB
- Chicken Pox
- Diptheria
- Polio
You may be required to have additional bloods taken to prove your immunity status of Hepatitis B, but this depends entirely on the hospital OH Policy.
Health Professionals will advise on the requirements of each hospital/facility.
